At the annual meeting in April 2019 of the Society for French Historical Studies, in line with her conference theme, “History and its Publics: Doing Things Differently,” Daniella Kostroun organized a staged reading and discussion, hosted by the Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) in partnership with the Asante Art Institute of Indianapolis, Inc. (formerly Asante Children’s Theatre) and thanks to support from Deborah Asante and Keesha Dixon. Teneh Karimu, Joshua Short, and Alicia Sims performed a revised version of our translation. Funders included, from IUPUI, the Arts and Humanities Institute, the Division for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, the Office for International Affairs, the Program for Global and International Studies in the School of Liberal Arts, the World Languages and Literatures Program in the School of Liberal Arts, and the Institute for American Thought. The program was made possible through a grant from Indiana Humanities in cooperation with the National Endowment for the Humanities, and received support from Indiana University’s College of Arts and Sciences Ostrom Grants Program.
